Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs announces a unique pilgrimage for Secular Franciscans that will include Assisi and Austria. Pilgrims will spend one week in Assisi, then another in Austria.
After visiting the major sanctuaries in Assisi associated with Saints Francis and Clare—
San Damiano, Porziuncola, Leprosaria, Carceri, Basilicas of San Francesco and Santa Chiara—
focusing on the founders of the Franciscan Family, a coach will bring us to Austria via northern Italy, through the Austrian Alps, arriving at our lodging in Berghausen, Germany, located directly on the bank of the Salzach River that borders on Austria. During the second week, we will travel into Austria daily, with conferences on the Secular Franciscan Martyr, Blessed Franz Jägerstätter. We will celebrate both his birthday and feast day during our pilgrimage.
