Francis hails from Long Island, New York. After earning a BA in Psychology from Fairfield University he taught high school for three years before joining the Order of Friars Minor, Holy Name Province, in 1989. He holds a M. Div. from the Washington Theological Union, professed solemn vows 1995, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1996.

Having served as Assoc. Pastor at St. Francis Parish, Long Beach Island, NJ, Vocation Director, and post Novitiate Director, he is now the Executive Director of University Ministry at St. Bonaventure University.
