Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Rick is a Friar Minor of the Immaculate Conception Province who spent nine years living in Rome after his ordination to the priesthood in 1997. After many cappuccino-filled evenings in the piazzas of Rome, he earned a Licentiate and a Doctorate in Theology, with a Franciscan spirituality concentration, from the Pontifical University Antonianum.
Seven years of trying to get into the heart of a man known as the Seraphic Doctor led him to publish his work in 2004 under the title, St. Bonaventure’s Tree of Life: Theology of the Mystical Journey. Rick enjoys giving retreats and teaching Franciscan spirituality. He has served the men of his Province at various levels of formation and was Guardian of the OFM General Curia for three years. He is currently the Director of the Priestly Discernment Program and an Instructor at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio..
