Sister Suzanne, born in Buffalo, New York, entered the Felician Community in 1964. Ministries included teaching in the Diocese of Buffalo Catholic Schools at both the elementary and secondary level. Sr. Suzanne became a director of religious education and served at several parishes. She served as vocation and formation director for her Community. In addition she was on the faculty of Villa Maria College of Buffalo, Felician University, Lodi, New Jersey and served as the Director of the Franciscan Center for Social Concern at St. Bonaventure University, Olean, New York. Sister has been a member of the Franciscan Pilgrimage Staff since 2007. She has served as a presenter and retreat director. Currently she serves on the Provincial Leadership Team of Our Lady of Hope Province of North America.
Educational background began at Villa Maria College of Buffalo with an associate degree in Liberal Arts and a BA in History from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY. Studies continued with a MA in Religious Studies from Aquinas College, Grand Rapids, Michigan, a MA in History from the State University of New York in Buffalo and a MA in Franciscan Studies for the Franciscan Institute at St. Bonaventure University, Olean, NY. Publications include History of the Third Order Regular: A Source Book together with Margaret Carney, OSF and Jean Francois Godet-Calogeras. Articles include: “The Contemplative-Active Stance of Franciscan Prayer”, “Announcing a Year of Jubilee and “Walking in the Footprints of Jesus.”
Sister has a passion for the Franciscan Tradition and sharing her insights through giving retreats and talks on various Franciscan topics. She is grateful for the opportunity to be a member of the pilgrimage staff and to accompany pilgrims as they experience God’s grace by walking in the footprints of Francis and Clare of Assisi.
