André Cirino OFM is a contemporary Franciscan itinerant preacher whose ministerial experience includes parish work, Franciscan formation and high school education. He also worked at the Little Portion Retreat House for the poor in Bronx, New York for 8 years. He co-authored the book Teens Encounter Christ and edited a journal on the writings of Francis, In the Womb of the Cave. He and Josef Raischl SFO have jointly published an anthology on Franciscan Solitude; The Journey Into God: A Forty-Day Retreat with Bonaventure, Francis and Clare; My Heart’s Quest: Collected Writings of Eric Doyle, Friar Minor, Theologian; Three Heroes of Assisi in World War II; and A Pilgrimage throught the Franciscan Intellectual Tradition. André and Laurent Gallant OFM have published a prayer book and CD (with Josef Raischl) on St. Francis’ Office of the Passion: The Geste of the Great King. Their most recent CDs—Love Holding Love—are Franciscan mantras drawn from the writings of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. André’s published meditations on St. Francis’ Prayer before a Crucifix entitled The Cross Was Their Book. Since 1984 André has conducted pilgrimages to Italy, Prague, England, Mallorca, France, Germany and the California Missions for Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs.
