The leadership of many Franciscan health care institutions has been given to lay professionals. A concern of the sponsoring agency is how to insure the Franciscan values that drive the work of the institution are fostered.

Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs has worked with Mayo Clinic (Minnesota), Wheaton (Illinois) Franciscan Health Care, Mishawaka (Indiana) Health Care Services and the Health Care services of the Sisters in Manitowoc (Wisconsin) and numerous other health care institutions. We have devised pilgrimages to Assisi and Rome for the purpose of providing lay leadership with an experience of the environment in which Franciscan values were born and nourished.
