Joshua Laidler

Josh Laidler is a school guidance counsellor and teacher from the Brisbane, Australia. Joshua has experience in designing, coordinating and running international and local pilgrimages and retreats for school-aged people.

Joshua has a Bachelor in Social Science (Psychology) from Bond University (2011), a Masters in Counselling from the University of Queensland (2013), a Graduate Diploma in Education from the Queensland University of Technology (2014) and is currently completing a Masters in Educational Studies at the University of Queensland specializing in Guidance and Counselling.

Joshua specializes in working with at-risk youth through his role as counsellor at a co-educational high school of almost 1400 students. He also works annually as co-coordinator of the Brisbane Catholic Education Asteros program where he engages in retreats to mentor young men at risk of falling out of the educational system. Joshua has designed and implemented a variety of pilgrimage and religious immersion programs for young people. He has travelled to Samoa with school groups annually since 2015, as well as designing and facilitating numerous school retreats within Australia. He was also fortunate enough to be chosen as a representative of Brisbane Catholic Education to attend world youth day in Panama in 2019.

Joshua is a product of Franciscan schooling, and has been on two pilgrimages to Assisi as a pilgrim before joining Franciscan Pilgrimages with a desire to share the profound spiritual experiences he has had with others.
