Javier, a native of Tamaulipas, Mexico, holds a bachelors degree in Organizational Communication, a master’s degree in Communication and Socio-cultural studies, a master of arts in theology with a concentration in Biblical studies from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. He is finishing the master of divinity at Boston College in preparation for priesthood ordination. Before joining Holy Name Province in 2013, Javier worked for 15 years in the private sector in organizational development, learning, change management and coaching in Mexico, the U.S., Canada and South Korea. In 2010, he spent a sabbatical period in Israel and Italy doing research on Ancient Near East archeology, as well as biblical exegesis and theology. In December 2010, Javier founded in Mexico a Center for Biblical Studies dedicated to offer biblical programs for lay and religious people. Javier resides at St. Anthony’s Shrine in Boston where, besides his studies, he offers biblical seminars, workshops, conferences and retreats in English and Spanish.
