Fr. Tod Laverty, OFM
Canadian Tod Laverty is a Franciscan friar of the province of St. John the Baptist, Cincinnati, Ohio. He completed his Master of Divinity studies at St. Leonard College, Dayton, OH, and was ordained in 1972. Fr. Tod earned a CAS in Pastoral Counseling at Loyola and he serves as a Pastoral Counselor, doing psychotherapy with people in the Detroit downtown area. In 1985, Tod took a sabbatical year to study spirituality at the Gregorian and Antonianum universities in Rome and spent considerable time on pilgrimage in Assisi. The fruit of the pilgrimage was the decision to pursue advanced studies in pastoral counseling. He joined the pilgrimage staff in 1990.
Tod serves as a Spiritual Assistant to three Fraternities of Secular Franciscans and is the Regional Spiritual Assistant for the Secular Franciscans in the State of Michigan.
