Fr. Thomas Bourque, TOR

Fr. Thomas Bourque, TORTom Bourque is a Franciscan Friar of the Third Order Regular, Province of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. He was born and raised in Fitchburg, MA. After completing his undergraduate degree, Tom joined the Franciscans in 1976 and for over the past 29 years has been involved in higher education, leadership and pastoral formation. From Tom's academic background it is clear that he enjoys being a learner in his own life's journey. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Salem State College in Massachusetts.
Tom's graduate studies allowed him to earn a Master of Divinity from the University of St. Michael's College and the University of Toronto in Canada; a Master of Sacred Theology from Regis College, Toronto, Canada; and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Villanova, and a Doctorate in Education in Private School Leadership - School Administration from the University of San Francisco in California.
His experience in higher education has included ministry as the Provost and Executive Vice President at Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio, the Director of the Office of Continuing Education, and as the Chairperson and associate professor in the Religious Studies and Pastoral Ministry Department at Saint Francis University in PA. He has also served in the area of religious leadership for his community for eight years.

Tom is currently assigned to Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Herndon, VA, as a priest in residence. His ministry consists of sacramental ministry at the parish and teaching undergraduate and doctoral courses online for Saint Francis University (PA) and Capella University (MN). He joined the Franciscan Pilgrimage staff in 2001
