The Pilgrimage is over and you are home...
Over the years, former pilgrims have challenged Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs not to abandon them once they return home but to find ways to help pilgrims back home to maintain the spiritual experience after their pilgrimage. We have tried to encourage, to share, to educate, to walk with our brother/sister pilgrims back home by sending out newsletters twice a year, hopefully containing information that helps the pilgrim maintain his/her pilgrimage euphoria. Other times, we have sponsored reunions. Some have been successful, especially in certain well defined areas while others were poorly attended. We continue to seek ways to reach out.
With our new website, we have opted to include various pieces of literature, spiritual readings, photos and other information specifically suited for pilgrims back home. We have also included a wiki page for former pilgrims to share their comments, thoughts, etc. for other pilgrims to see.
Also, we are collaborating with Cardinal Stritch University to create a website for PILGRIMS BACK HOME. Hopefully, this will also help pilgrims keep connected both to the experience and to each other.
New ideas are always welcome.
